3 MORE DAYS TO FILL OUT YOUR ABACUS SURVEY!

Deadline is Sunday, July 21

“ABACUS is one of the most significant benefits of membership in the ABA and the only cost is the time it takes to fill in the forms. Having access to the industry-wide information from ABACUS helps both internal discussions around how to effectively run a store as well as external discussions with folks like landlords and banks to clarify the realities of our industry. The greater the number of stores that participate the more effective this valuable tool will be for all of us.

-Andy Perham, CEO of Books, Inc.

Bookstores use their ABACUS report to:

• Negotiate with their union

• Negotiate with their landlord

• Educate their community about their challenges and why community support is important

• Educate city officials about the challenges of small business and why they need support from their elected officials

• Discover best practices for most profitable stores

• Find potential cost savings

• Identify areas of their business that may need attention

Learn more.

You Will Need:

• store’s income statement

• store’s balance sheet

• and a year-end z report from your point of sale system

(If you don’t have some of these, ABA can assist you in gathering the information you need!)
