CONGRATULATIONS TO BREIN LOPEZ!

The ABA has announced that that Brein Lopez has been appointed to fill an empty seat on the ABA Board of Directors:

"Brein Lopez is the manager of Pannell Award-winning Children’s Book World in Los Angeles, whose mission is that every child sees themselves and each other reflected on their bookshelves. Lopez has been a bookseller for three decades at legendary Los Angeles bookstores, including Book Soup, Every Picture Tells A Story, and Children’s Book World. He has been honored to host public conversations with some of the most esteemed children’s book authors and illustrators. Through his work on the American Booksellers Association’s Children’s Advisory Council and as a veteran indie bookseller, he has been a fierce advocate for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ representation in all aspects of the children’s book industry. He is also the 2024 jury chairperson for the National Book Award for Young People's Literature."
