IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: FROM THE ABA - "WHAT WE DO NEXT"

ABA CEO Allison Hill wrote to members, "Independent bookstores provide inclusive and affirming community spaces; support access to books; ally with librarians and teachers; ensure that people can see themselves reflected in books; champion the right to read and the First Amendment; promote long-form reading that fosters critical thinking; create opportunities for discourse; provide alternatives to monopolies that limit consumer choice; and bring people together. The work of independent bookstores matters more than ever."

TIPS FOR USING THE HOLIDAY CATALOG

CALIBA creates the Holiday Catalog to help booksellers sell books and support the organization. With the help of the other regionals, we have compiled a list of ideas for making the most of your holiday catalog that you can find here.

CALIBA Holiday 2024 Catalog Tips

Catalog tip from Heather at Gamble House Bookstore, Pasadena:“We have it in four spots right now—on our check-in desk where people come to purchase tickets (we offer tours of the house), at our "ask me" ambassador table outside, on a table where the tour starts, and in the basement where our volunteers hang out (want to make sure they see it too!). Also starting to include it when folks place an online order.”

Have other ideas on how bookstores can use the Holiday Catalog? Share it on Discord or email Valentina!

Note: All holiday catalog titles have an extra 2% discount on Ingram! No code needed.
