The Quirky Crow Bookshop Logo

Welcome to CALIBA, The Quirky Crow Bookshop!

Owner: Julie Blinston

Planned Opening: Mid-Year 2025

About Our New Member: Opening our family-owned bookshop is realizing a dream to bring a brick and mortar back to San Ramon and create a space for community to socialize. In addition to selling books, we look forward to hosting bookclubs, social events, collaborating with local artisans, as well as providing meaningful employment and job training opportunities for autistic and neurodivergent young people. As we get closer to opening our doors, please keep an eye out for us online and at local popups.

CALIBA LA Wildfires Resources: Ways to Help Booksellers Impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires.

LA WILDFIRES UPDATE

The CALIBA team has put together a working Google document to share ways that you can support bookstores affected by the fires. You can find this document plus resources for booksellers affected by the fire on the CALIBA LA Fires Resource page.

CROWDFUNDING FOR BOOKSELLERS WHO LOST THEIR HOMES

  • Richard Turner, Diesel A Bookstore in Santa Monica, started a GoFundMe to help one of their booksellers who lost her home. The fund will also help raise money to purchase and donate books to those who’ve lost everything (schools, libraries, individuals).

  • John Evans and Alison Reid, Camino Books in Del Mar, lost their home in Pacific Palisades. The campaign, organized by PRH sales rep Tom Benton, aims to raise $10,000.

  • Another Gofundme campaign has been set up for Tom Rogers, owner of the Book Alley, a used bookstore in Pasadena, whose home in Altadena was destroyed.
