UPDATES FROM THE CALIBA OFFICE

Happy New Year!

The CALIBA team is excited and looking forward to what we have planned for our organization and members in 2025.

The most major change will be our new CALIBA website! The CALIBA team has been working hard the past couple months to create a more user-friendly and organized platform for our members. We hope to launch it with new colors and a new logo in February! We are super excited for what you as members can do with it, as well as, the benefits it will provide to the CALIBA staff. Don’t worry, if you’re not a member you can still benefit from it. More news to come!

This year, we’ll find ourselves back in some familiar places, like Oakland (Spring Forum) and South San Francisco (Fall Fest), and we’ll be moving forward with our traditional Holiday Catalog and the Golden Poppy Awards. The team is planning some new aspects for each! You can expect more bookseller education at our Spring Forums and Fall Fest on each program that will get more bookseller eyes on the titles you submit to those programs.

Finally, we have a new promotional opportunity in the pipeline that we’ll have ready to launch later this month. We hope it’s as exciting to you as it is to us!

Thank you for your continued support and participation in CALIBA’s programs and events. There are no better champions for your books and authors than indie booksellers and those of us in California are so excited to get to work for you! I personally look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at our events (or Winter Institute) and celebrating the authors you send our way this year.

Best Wishes,

Hannah Walcher

CALIBA Executive Director
